A university student who continued walking up Mount Snowdon in poor weather even after the rest of his family turned back plunged more than 500ft, an inquest heard.
Eryri National Park in North Wales is home to the country's highest mountain, Yr Wyddfa, also known as Mount Snowdon, seeing more than 100,000 visitors per month in summer.
